President Trump signed an executive order calling for Border Patrol to implement biometric verification measures for all travelers crossing US borders by 2021. Part of that effort is to use facial scanning technology at major international airports. There’s no word on any limitations on how such data can be used once it’s captured, or how the data will be stored.
Our pictures are already part of the passport system, but this takes measures to a new level. Now our facial scans will be stored elsewhere, adding to the number of groups and organizations that store our image whether we like it or not.
