Two Congressmen Demand Cable and Streaming Companies Address ‘Misinformation’… Isn’t That Part of the Problem?

Who do you believe to be the best arbiter of the truth? Congress? Apple? Amazon? Verizon?

If you chose “none of the above,” then you probably have a lot of company, but that’s not stopping Congress from getting involved.

Democratic U.S. Representatives Anna Eshoo and Jerry McNerney sent letters to a dozen cable, satellite, and streaming video companies urging them to address their “disseminating misinformation to millions” of users from some channels.

They wrote to companies including Alphabet, AT&T Inc, Verizon Communications Inc, Roku, Amazon.com Inc, Apple Inc, Comcast, Charter Communications and DISH. The letters suggested companies played “a major role in the spread of dangerous misinformation that enabled the insurrection of January 6th and hinders our public health response to the current pandemic.”

Interestingly, the representatives didn’t explain in detail how the truth would be discovered.

The so called insurrection was pre-planned and the FBI has already established this. So… What is your point? Besides that. It is Nancy Pelosi’s responsibility to have that body secured! Where the hell was she, and why wasn’t it secured the way it was supposed to be?

It is about time that something has to be done with these biased companies because they abuse by using BIAS in what they publish or censor opinions. I was censored from posting polite posts just because I am a conservative. That is not right and that should be stopped by the FCC who can revoke their licenses. Low IQ people are easily swayed and molded by the biased articles they publish and that leads to exacerbate the polarization of our people. Children are also easily molded to think that everything they read is true that they can emulate. If not corrected, soon we will have brainwashed people by the corrupt and biased media. Our elected officials are not just mandated to protect the security of our country, but also to protect the minds of our people from negative programming. We don’t want a HIVE mentality for our people. May God bless America from its enemies.

Anything that is claimed as “fact”, yet has no evidence or evidence to the contrary, is “misinformation”; clearly if it is intentional, it is SLANDER … which is illegal.
And since no one seems to be doing anything about it, perhaps members of Congress should.
On another subject, if Medicare is close to collapse then perhaps tax cuts and loopholes, along with Social Security caps, for the wealthiest should be revoked!
You know, just to make things fair.
