Trump Asks Supreme Court to Set Aside Wisconsin Votes, Let State Legislature Decide

The Wisconsin Supreme Court rejected Trump’s lawsuit challenging the election results, finding that he waited too long to file.  So now Trump has taken his fight to a higher power, the U.S. Supreme Court.

In a new lawsuit, Trump is challenging the 50,000+ absentee ballots cast in Milwaukee and Dane Counties as invalid, and he also wants to throw out ballots where clerks filled in the addresses of witnesses on ballot envelopes.

If successful, the move would hand the Wisconsin state legislature, which is controlled by Republicans, the responsibility of deciding how to apportion the state’s electoral ballots.

The lawsuit is a long shot, to say the least.
