To Avoid Problems, Georgia Allows Counties to Count Ballots During Early Voting

Even though Georgia officials certified the 2020 elections, they admit that there were problems, including the rush to count early voting ballots on and after election day.  To avoid the havoc that created as citizens vote in the Senatorial runoff elections, the state is allowing counties to count ballots as they are cast.

A spokesperson for the state said:

“We had some counties in the general election who didn’t take advantage of the extra time, and as a result, we were waiting on them.”

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a Republican, wants to end the practice of no-excuse absentee voting because he says it opens the door to illegal voting.
