Chance are, this part of the trip won’t make the final edit of the film.
The Arctic tours ship MS Malmo got trapped in ice halfway between Norway and the North Pole. The ship is on an Arctic tour with 16 passengers, including a climate change documentary film crew and others also concerned about climate change and melting Arctic ice.
Apparently, the group didn’t think there was enough ice in the area in early September to warrant chartering an icebreaker. They were wrong.
All passengers were rescued by helicopter, while seven crew members remained with the boat.
