Dating sites leave a lot to be desired. There are sites based on complicated algorithms, like eHarmony, basic hook-up sites like Tinder, big dating sites like Match.com, and then lots of affinity sites for people by interest, such as religion.
But now comes one that seems both preposterous and plausible at the same time.
Yep, you can now narrow your dating pool only to other people who share your love, or worship, for all things Elon Musk, as evidenced by what they drive. The price of admission is that you must prove your Tesla ownership before you can join the site. You can’t be a pretender or wannabe.
Grewal came up with the idea after realizing Tesla owners only wanted to talk about one thing: how much they love their Teslas.
“It became a big part of their identity, and they shared a lot of the same values, like wanting to reduce their impact on the environment, stanning Elon Musk, or appreciating high tech. Suddenly it hit me, these people would be perfect for each other.”
The idea of narrowing the field of potential dates to just those that drive a certain make of car seems…odd. You’d think that people using internet dating would want more choices, not fewer. But if their car, and what it symbolizes, is that important, then maybe this will work. It will at least keep them from going on dates only to find that the person drives a Ford, BMW, or something else, and actually has outside interests. What a deal breaker!
Maybe as a photo you have to submit one with your car, then people can judge you by the year and model that you drive.
