According to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll released Monday, a rising number of Americans think President Donald Trump should be impeached because of the allegations that he pressured the Ukrainian president to investigate his political rival Joe Biden concerning a prosecutor, an oil company, and Biden’s son Hunter. Support for impeachment rose 8% to 45%.
Another 41% said that Trump should not be impeached and 15% said they “don’t know.”
Among Democrats, 74% said Trump should be impeached, while 13% of Republicans supported impeachment and 37% of independents think he should be impeached.
The poll also found that two out of three American adults, including nearly half of Republicans, said any elected official “should be removed” from office if they work with a foreign government to attack a political rival.
