If You Have an Airbnb Reservation in D.C. Next Week, It’s Gone… Company Cancels All Reservations
Why? Because they can.
Airbnb, the tech company that turned extra bedrooms and couches into veritable hotels, announced that it will cancel all reservations in the Washington, D.C. metro area next week, which is the week that Joe Biden will be inaugurated.
Airbnb said in a statement:
“This decision was informed by inputs from our host community as well as local, state and federal officials. We are aware of reports emerging yesterday afternoon regarding armed militias and known hate groups that are attempting to travel and disrupt the Inauguration.”
The company had already banned people whom it found to be involved in the Capitol breach or connected to hate groups from its site.
